The Cuckoos Have Built A New Nest

And what a great job they’ve done! Ethical boutique, The Cuckoo’s Nest, now has a new nesting spot at 82 St Andrew Street. At the re-launch party last Friday, we were overwhelmed with the meticulous care and attention that has been poured into this project. The shop is both charming and enticing, with jewellery creatively displayed under glass domes and in vintage drawers hung on walls. The owners/managers, Annika Metua (University of Auckland medical student) and Susan Wardell (University of Otago PhD student), are committed to supporting local designers and providing ethical consumer choices. We think they are wonder women; Susan even found time to give birth to a baby girl recently! So, if you are pro fair trade, recycling and vintage, this shop is a must for your Christmas shopping.
